A beautiful, healthy and radiant skin is the reflection of our way of life.

Six common sense rules are to be respected on a daily basis

  1. Sleep enough, because fatigue can be read on your face: tired traits, dull complexion.
  2. Balance your diet making sure your body gets all the nutrients it needs, especially anti-oxidant rich food such as fruit and vegetables (in no moderation!).
  3. Stay hydrated all day long by drinking at least 1.5 litres of fluids (water, tea, hot lemon water, herbal teas...).
  4. Don’t smoke or smoke as little as possible...
  5. Protect yourself from the sun.

The sixth rule is the daily use of skin care products adapted to your skin and to seasonal conditions. Cleansing & moisturising are the essential steps of your daily skin care routine in order to look after your skin season after season and to prevent the skin’s ageing process that all women dread.

What is the skin’s ageing process?

It is scientifically proven that the skin’s ageing process starts at the age of 25. Cell production slows down and the moisture level of the connective tissue decreases, which results in a diminished resistance to external aggressions. There is not much we can do to prevent the ageing process due to our age as it is imprinted in our genes. What we can do, on the other hand, is prevent the skin?s ageing process due to external factors such as climatic conditions, pollution, stress, free radicals.

How does it manifest itself?

Skin’s ageing manifests itself in several ways: dryness, loss of elasticity and consistency, thinning, dull appearance, damaged skin barrier, appearance of age spots, lines which turn into wrinkles.

How to prevent the skin’s ageing process?

First of all, by respecting the rules of a healthy lifestyle. Then, by using products that are adapted to one’s particular skin type and provide a gentle yet effective cleansing, an adequate level of moisturisation and a supply of anti-ageing and anti-oxidant actives to protect the skin from external aggressions.

Cleansing your skin morning & evening:

It’s not just about removing make-up, but also all the other impurities that can cause cell imbalance and oxidation. Note that the most gentle and effective way to remove make-up is the cleansing milk/lotion duo used in all beauty salons. Rinse-off cleansers are often aggressive and dry out the skin.

Moisturise your skin with no moderation:

The aim of moisturising products is to protect the skin and prevent it from drying out. The moisturising film of an emulsion is made of an oily substance that, once applied to the skin, retains the skin’s moisture on the surface and prevents it from evaporating. Emulsions have varying degrees of oily substance (emulsion water/oil or oil/water) and it’s advisable to choose the type of emulsion adapted to your skin type (dry, sensitive, oily...) and to external factors to which the skin is exposed (namely climatic conditions). Generally speaking, lighter creams are better suited to normal skin and richer ones to dry or sensitive skin. Nonetheless, the seasonal factor also determines the choice of a cream: when temperatures drop, for example, a very nourishing cream will be indispensable for all skin types just like a coat for wintery days.

Why moisturise your skin morning and evening?

In the morning in order to protect your skin from external aggressions (pollution, wind, free radicals). In the evening because it is when sleeping that the skin repairs the damages suffered during the day when the blood flow and the oxygen consumption increase.
